RestonTech Special Projects
RestonTech is proud of our record of providing solutions to businesses of all sizes. Often, there is no "off-the-shelf" solution to a particular business need. The listings below summarize many of the special projects we have completed.

America Online
When AOL Interactive Marketing pitched a marketing idea to Ford Motor Company, they needed a prototype developed fast. When Ford gave them the "go", they needed it launched "yesterday". For both they came to RestonTech. The system allowed dealers in Southern California to find potential buyers of Ford Explorers, and rewarded AOL members who took test drives with free digital cameras. The requirements were for a secure system (to prevent fraud), high bandwidth (AOL traffic), seamless integration with the AOL online experience, and extensive reporting for both AOL and Ford dealers. The RestonTech solution met all requirements, and was delivered in five business days.

Ford
RestonTech has worked with Ford on several levels. Working with AOL Interactive Marketing, RestonTech designed and hosted a promotion for Ford Explorers. RestonTech has also worked with Tyson's Ford, a local dealer, to design a system integrating their web site with their older point of sale system. Upgrades to their POS that would allow "web access" had been rumored, but Tyson's Ford did not want to wait.
A special purpose web server was designed that accessed the legacy POS database server. RestonTech then developed an integration layer that allowed customers to check the status, real-time, of their repairs. Additionaly, when their car was ready for pickup, the system would send an e-mail notification. This was one of the first ever auto service integrated web sites, and ran for years with almost no maintenance. The system is still allowing online service requests and surveying customers on their satisfaction level.

Metropolitan Liver Diseases
Dr. Vinod Rustgi is Medical Director, Liver Transplantation, and Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center. He also runs a growing private practice, and has been named by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the D.C. area's "Top Doctors". His office had a number of infrastructure and security issues that RestonTech has provided solutions for.
RestonTech deployed a VPN for his remote offices, using XIGG firewall gateways. Detailed internet usage and intrusion reports were created from the data reported by the XIGGs. A secure, encrypted email system was set up for the staff, so inter-office communication was HIPPA compliant. Finaly, a series of secure web pages was designed so that patients could fill out much of their preliminary paperwork online. The forms are linked to the encrypted email system, making it easy and efficient for staff to securely access the incoming records.
